In a strategic partnership with Lagos State’s Ministry of Education, BIC, a global stationery frontrunner, has fortified its commitment to Nigerian students’ academic success. As part of the “Writing the Future Together” initiative, BIC has generously equipped Lagos students with essential writing instruments to bolster their performance in the pivotal West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) and National Examinations Council (NECO) exams. This philanthropic gesture aligns with BIC’s goal to enhance the learning experience for 250 million students worldwide by 2025.

The donation event took place at the Lagos State Secretariat in Alausa Ikeja in presence of the Honorable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr Jamiu Alli-Balogun; Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education Mr. Abayomi Abolaji; and BIC representatives, Mr. Adeyemi Ojo and Mr. Patrick Bello. Representatives from selected schools also attended the event.
Commending the efforts of the Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu, Adeyemi Ojo, Business Development lead at BIC Nigeria said: “We are honoured to support the education space in Nigeria, and more specifically the Lagos State government today. We are humbled to have had the opportunity to contribute towards improving learning conditions for our youth by providing them with the necessary writing tools during the most crucial examination period. We believe that quality education is fundamental to shaping our nation’s future, and remain committed to supporting the sector. We are confident that working alongside Lagos State Government under the T.H.E.M.E policy agenda will allow us to leverage our initiatives further to support the wider community.”

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Education, Abayomi Abolaji in his own remarks, added: “The provision of education is primarily the responsibility of the government, but it cannot accomplish this alone. Every contribution, big or small, adds up to significantly support to our education system. We appreciate BIC for bolstering government efforts.”
