Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank welcome baby boy

Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank have welcomed their first child – a baby boy.

The little boy was born at 8.55am yesterday morning weighing 8lbs 1oz.

Eugenie shared an adorable photo of their new arrival, showing his hands with those of his mum and dad, on Instagram alongside three blue hearts.

Mum and baby are both doing very well, and the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh are “delighted with the news”.

Eugenie gave birth at The Portland Hospital, the same place she was born, and where Meghan Markle delivered little Archie.

A statement from Buckingham Palace read: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie was safely delivered a son today, 9th February 2021, at 08:55hrs at The Portland Hospital. Jack Brooksbank was present.

“The baby weighs 8lbs 1oz.

“This is Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s first child, The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York’s first grandchild, and the ninth great-grandchild for The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”

The new royal baby is 11th in line to the throne and knocks Prince Edward down to 12th position.

The new arrival makes Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson proud grandparents, and is an ninth great-grandchildren to the Queen and Prince Philip.

Eugenie and Jack are yet to release their son’s name, but if they keep with royal tradition they will keep us waiting a few days.
