EPL: Guardiola doesn’t see you as threat – Roy Keane tells Arsenal

Manchester United legend, Keane has said that Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola would have been comfortable selling Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal because the Gunners are no threat to his team.

Arsenal have had an impressive summer recruitment drive, signing over four players already.

After missing out on Champions League last season, Arsenal have invested heavily in their squad, with the arrival of Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko and three others.

Keane, however, believes that despite their activities in the market, Arsenal remain some way from challenging City and Liverpool.

The former Manchester United captain told ITV: “I wouldn’t doubt Pep’s opinion on players.

“Jesus has really done well the last few months, Sterling’s stats are fantastic, but with Haaland coming in, Pep’s probably thinking he wants to keep a hungry squad, that’s the name of the game.

“He probably, at this moment in time with the money that came in, doesn’t see these clubs – certainly Arsenal – as a threat.

“Liverpool and Manchester City are so far ahead of the other teams, he thought it’s worth a gamble.”
