[Ghana] Ghana’s Kingsley Schindler joins Hannover 96

Bundesliga ll side Hannover 96 have announced the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Kingsley Schindler on a one-year loan deal from FC Cologne.

The 27-year-old joined his former boyhood club for another stint having had a spell with their youth ranks at the U19 side as a teenager in 2011.

Kingsley didn’t enjoy much playing time with his parent club this just-ended season after managing 13 league games and providing 2 assists in the process of the campaign.

Having signed on the dotted lines for his newfound side, the speedster is now looking forward to having a strong campaign ahead of the upcoming football season.

” In the second half of last season I didn’t get the playing time I had imagined. When I made contact with 96, it was immediately clear to me that I wanted to do that. As an 18-year-old young player, I watched the pros from the stands. Now I am happy that I will be on the field myself in the HDI Arena. I’m really looking forward to 96 and the new season,” he told the Club’s offficial website

Hannover 96 sporting director Gerhard Zuber spoke highly of the qualities of the Ghanaian flanksman as he feels he would leave up to his billing with his outfit having gained much experience since leaving them as a teenager.

“For Kingsley it is almost like a return to the 96 family after playing for our A-Juniors in 2011/12. Kingsley brings speed, mentality and a great character and therefore fits in perfectly Our requirement profile. At Holstein Kiel, Kingsley Schindler was one of the most conspicuous players in the second division and attracted attention there as a goal scorer and preparer. We are convinced that at 96 he will be able to build on that time,” Zuber said on the same club’s forum

The German-born lanky widesman is still eligible to play for Ghana at the international stage as he is yet to be capped by Germany at the senior national team level.
